The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of R.B. Gothi Jain College for Women organized a Plastic Free Society Awareness Programme on 10 July 2026 at Jaigopal Garodia Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Ponneri under the guidance of our Respected principal Dr.Mrs.M.Mahalakshmi,with the support of our beloved Vice principal Mrs.K.Geetha.

The programme was conducted with the objective of environmentally friendly practices.

The NSS volunteers conducted an informative awareness session through speeches, mime and interactive activities focusing on the theme “Say No to Plastic Bags.” The students were educated about the environmental and health hazards caused by single-use plastics and were introduced to sustainable alternatives such as cloth bags, paper bags and jute bags.

The event ended with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms.Geethapriya , NSS Co ordinator expressing gratitude to the school authorities, participants and NSS volunteers for making the programme a success.
