NSS unit of R. B. Gothi Jain College for Women organized the "APJ Abdul Kalam Death Anniversary Commemoration and Tree Plantation Drive on 27th July 2026. The programme was organized to pay tribute to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and to fulfil his dream of a greener India.

The event began with Principal Dr. Mrs. M. Mahalakshmi and Vice Principal Mrs. K. Geetha, along with students, offering floral tributes to Dr. Kalam’s portrait. This was followed by a candlelight oath-taking ceremony, where the Principal, Vice Principal and students lit candles and took a pledge to follow his ideals of honesty, hard work and dedication to the nation.

As part of the commemoration, a tree plantation drive was held on campus with great enthusiasm. 

 The event was a grand success in honouring Dr. Kalam’s memory and promoting environmental sustainability.
